The day before yesterday we were leaving next Wednesday and today we are leaving on the first of February. This is a lot like being told that Christmas has been postponed, on Christmas Eve. The fact is that Shannon and I have been battling coughs and colds since before the New Year. My behind is still draggin’ and Shannon has managed to get it again. This time she sounds just like Marge Simpson and Mike and I can’t listen to her without laughing. We can’t get through the day without taking a nap. The boat is ready but we aren’t. I didn’t see this coming. At any rate it will give us some time to get more traveling cash in the bilge which will be a good thing.
The pilot charts show the weather as being about the same. We don’t plan on stopping much on the Pacific side so, if I only average 5 knots, it looks like around 20 days at sea to Panama.

Best laid plans of mice and men, huh?
but you are wise to not start a sail when you are ill, Scottie..
Hop;e all improves for you guys and that after the first of the month you can raise anchore and head out.

Everything happens for a reason. I’m just waiting to see what it is.
